FranceJadis is a free app, with no ads and no tracking, carried by a single person. It will stay that way. Your support covers the real costs (server, storage, domain name) and, beyond that, funds the next steps.
A personal message
Hello,
FranceJadis is the result of forty years of collecting and digitizing old postcards, and of two years spent identifying, geolocating and restoring them one by one. The app is free, with no ads and no tracking — a choice I intend to keep.
That choice has a real cost: hosting, image storage, domain name. If the app is useful to you, or simply touches you, a donation — however modest — directly helps me keep it going.

On Liberapay, a donation is always set up as a subscription (week, month or year) — but you decide yourself whether it renews or not.
For a single donation: once you have chosen the amount and the period, at the step “Please choose how this donation should be renewed”, select “Manual renewal” rather than “automatic”. Your card will be charged only once; when it falls due, Liberapay just sends you a reminder email that you can ignore if you do not wish to renew.
Would you rather make a one-off donation, with no commitment? PayPal is better suited: €10 is suggested, but you can change the amount before confirming.

Keep the current site running
To cover hosting and day-to-day running: server, images, geolocation, maintenance. Via Liberapay (recurring donation, cancellable at any time) or via PayPal (one-off donation, any amount).
Fund the next steps
A more ambitious project is under consideration: a more powerful machine dedicated to improving the colorization, geolocation and recognition of the postcards with artificial intelligence.
Why support FranceJadis?
The app will remain free and open to everyone, with no subscription and no ads. That choice has a real cost, borne by a single person. Every donation, however modest, directly extends the life of the service and the possibility of going on identifying, geolocating and restoring new postcards.
No material reward is offered for everyday support donations; any rewards for a future crowdfunding campaign will be specified in due course.
